President's Message Dear Members, Since my last message to you a number of major activities have been undertaken by your Club, all designed to grow the Club, continue its traditions and provide first class facilities for members, guests and the community. Those members who attended the Castle Hill Extra-Ordinary meetings will be aware that since February 2007 we have been engaged in actions to complete the amalgamation of the City of Parramatta RSL Club into the group structure of Castle Hill RSL.I am grateful for the support of Castle Hill members as we undertook the necessary legal and procedural actions to complete the amalgamation. I am also pleased at the positive support and reaction of Parramatta members and grateful for the courtesy extend to myself at the two meetings held in Parramatta. You will see in the General Manger’s Report that we are now totally responsible for Parramatta.I would encourage members of both Clubs to use the facilities of both premises. You will also have seen the progress at Castle Hill with Stages 3 and 4 of the Master Plan. The completion of the additional 180 car spaces, the new Smoking Terrace and the major earthworks at the front of the Club as we extend each level towards the road thereby extending our Gaming floor, Restaurant areas and the Auditorium level as well as extensions to lifts and additional escalators. Parramatta will now also undergo a major face lift. This edition will reach you as we approach ANZAC Day. I invite you to attend the ceremony on ANZAC Sunday at Castle Hill and either of the Dawn Ceremonies at Castle Hill or Parramatta. A troubled World should remind us all of the sacrifices of those who have served their nation and also see us remember that even now, members of the Defence Force stand in harms way in many areas around the World. I pay particular tribute to the General Manager, managers and staff for the tremendous effort they have made to ensure that the Parramatta amalgamation was a success and also wish to welcome all of the Parramatta staff and members who have joined us. Members are reminded that this year is an Election Year for the Board of Directors.Members who may be considering nominating are invited to seek information from Directors and/or the General Manager. This will be the first election at which members of both clubs will vote. We will also, as now required by regulation,be holding a series of briefings as to the experience and qualifications needed, the time commitment and the roles and responsibilities of Directors. My sincere thanks, to my fellow Directors for their support of decisions, that, have taken the Club forward and to the management and staff for their efforts.I am again pleased to acknowledge the contribution that all of our internal clubs and Sub Branch members in both locations make. Please feel free to make contact. WARREN GLENNY AO RFD ED PRESIDENT
