General Manager's Message 
GENERAL MANAGER’S REPORT 2008 will be an exciting year for the club with the finalisation of construction to the rear car park and additional outdoor areas. Members will also notice the major works to the front of the club that are due to be completed early 2009. This is an exciting development that will see additional lounge bar facilities, Sports Bar/TAB area and a Southern Terrace that will provide patrons with an outdoor area at the front of the club. These areas will provide us with much needed lounge space and will alleviate a considerable amount of pressure on the rear courtyard and restaurant areas during peak trading times. The new development will also provide patrons with easy access to the upper levels and improve the design and decor of the Cocktail Bar area providing a purpose built space which will be ideal for a fun night out or to relax with friends after dinner. The improved access will also link the existing function area to the front of the club by escalators and a passenger lift. Members would be aware that Castle Hill RSL Club has recently amalgamated with Parramatta RSL Club. This amalgamation is a fantastic opportunity for both clubs to grow and prosper and the partnership will allow members to utilise both facilities and to enjoy the amenities and benefits of both clubs. As a member of Castle Hill you will be entitle to all of the benefits in the future that Parramatta has to offer and you will be entitled to enter and participate in all of the promotions, entertainment and discounts once the appropriate systems have been established.
Parramatta RSL is prominently located on the corner of O’Connell and Macquarie Streets and is in the heart of the Parramatta business district. This location is ideal to grow a strong and vibrant club and we believe that this can be achieved during the next few years. It is the Board’s intention to fast track this rejuvenation and during the ensuing year Parramatta will undergo a major refurbishment program which will see the interior and exterior modernised to provide a facility that is relevant to the local market and relevant to the members of both clubs. This refurbishment program and planned transformation will not be too dissimilar to the transformation that this club has experienced during the past four (4) years. Castle Hill RSL Club is excited about the opportunities that Parramatta RSL Club will present and we are looking forward to making a positive contribution to the local sporting community through the registered club but also through our commitment to promoting and developing strong sports programs. Parramatta has a proud tradition with a number of prominent sporting teams in the area and we would like to assist in enhancing this reputation by delivering professional sports programs. The club is particularly keen to develop these programs with local schools and junior sporting associations, sport provides many benefits to our community and it is important that we develop and learn from these activities. Our commitment to sport is well known in the Hills with our sponsorship support for athletics, Junior League, Rugby Union and Netball. The club also has a large number of participants participating weekly representing the club through soccer, cricket, badminton, swimming and Tia Kwon do. These activities are an important part of our activities and we enjoy incredible success with many zone, state and national representative. The amazing activity has to be gymnastics with over 1,100 registered participants ranging from Kindy Gym and our Recreational programs through to our elite program with National representatives. The C2K Sports Complex has been an incredible investment for our local community with over 60,000 visitors per month utilising the pools, gymnastics centre and fitness facilities. This investment is imperative and it is important that the club continues to provide you with the best possible services and amenities and it is important that this is delivered throughout our facility. As a result of this C2K has recently replaced a large percentage of the cardio equipment which are the latest products from the world’s leading fitness company “Life Fitness”. The new treadmills and cardio equipment have been installed for the first time in Australia at C2K and Life Fitness chose us to launch their latest product due to the size and reputation of our facility. The Board of Directors, management and staff are continuously trying to improve the service and amenities provided to you and as a result we have recently introduced new promotions and activities designed to reward members that frequently utilise the facilities of the club. These promotions are designed to give those members that support the club real value. Another initiative that is fast gaining support from our members is the I-Care gift card which enables members to purchase a debit card that can be used in all non-gambling activities of the club and this card is being extensively used as a gift card to members. Castle Hill RSL Club is continuing its transformation and we have now added Parramatta RSL Club and during the next few years this process will continue. During the past few years Castle Hill RSL Club has been recognised as one of the leading Registered Clubs within the club industry and despite the pressures by government through increased taxation and legislation the club will continue to develop and provide the members of Castle Hill and Parramatta with much needed social, entertainment and sporting infrastructure. The club is committed to supporting its local community and will continue to assist and develop its social and sporting ties with the community. In closing, I would like to thank you for your support and I ask that you continue supporting the club throughout our building program.
